Ontario's HVAC shortlist is decided by competition. It's Canada's largest market, it's mostly gas-heated, and big-city searches for furnace, AC and heat-pump work are among the most expensive in the country. When clicks cost that much, the items from our services menu that pay off first are the ones that measure and protect every call: call tracking, Local Services Ads, tightly targeted search and accurate rebate pages. Ontario owners can also read about the group's HVAC work at hvac.digital, another Sedighi.ca brand, and at hvac.agency.
The Ontario market and its buyers
Short answer: a gas-heated province with huge, crowded metros and a long tail of smaller cities. In 2023, 58% of Ontario households used natural gas for primary heating, 18% used electricity and 4% used propane, according to Statistics Canada. Propane matters in rural areas, where it shapes a distinct replacement audience.
The biggest markets are Toronto, Ottawa, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, London, Markham and Vaughan. Each is crowded, and the GTA municipalities overlap heavily, so a company in Vaughan may compete with dozens of firms across York Region and Toronto for the same searches. Smaller cities across southwestern, eastern and northern Ontario are often much cheaper per booked job.
Seasonality across the province
Short answer: two strong peaks in the south, a longer heating season in the north. Southern Ontario's winters are cold but tempered near the Great Lakes, and summers bring real cooling demand, so many companies run two peaks a year. Northern Ontario's heating seasons are longer and colder.
That makes Ontario well suited to maintenance-plan marketing: spring cooling and fall heating tune-ups fill the shoulder months between two genuine peaks.
Regulators to know in Ontario
Short answer: TSSA for fuels, ESA for electrical, and a rule on advertising that matters to marketers. We link these for context and don't give compliance advice.
- TSSA registers fuels contractors; only registered contractors using certified gas technicians may do fuels work.
- The Electrical Safety Authority licenses electrical contractors, and only licensed contractors may bid on or advertise electrical work. If your heat-pump campaigns mention panel or electrical upgrades, confirm your licensing before the ad runs.
- WSIB handles workplace insurance, Skilled Trades Ontario oversees trade certification, and Consumer Protection Ontario covers consumer matters.
Ontario programs as of October 2026

Frequently asked questions
What heat-pump rebates can Ontario HVAC companies promote?
As of October 2026, the Home Renovation Savings Program, run by Save on Energy and Enbridge Gas with provincial support, listed rebates of up to $7,500 for cold-climate air source heat pumps and up to $12,000 for ground source systems. No closure notice appeared on official pages. Confirm before quoting.
Can we advertise electrical work like panel upgrades?
In Ontario, only ESA Licensed Electrical Contractors may bid on or advertise electrical work for others. If your heat-pump ads mention electrical upgrades, check your licensing with the Electrical Safety Authority first.
Is the GTA too expensive for paid search?
It's expensive, not impossible. Tight geographic targeting, strong negative keywords and booked-job tracking keep cost per job reasonable. Depending on where you're based, suburban areas can be cheaper to win than the core, and tracking will show you which.
Is there another group brand Ontario companies should know?
Yes. HVAC.Digital is another Sedighi.ca brand alongside HVAC.Agency. Our plans follow HVAC.Agency's published pricing and the same 7-day free trial wherever you are in Ontario.
